Non-Smoker Only I am not a smoker but was married to one for years. I have relatives that have and do smoke. I have just chosen to not smoke and to not date or be with those who do. There is an odor to smoking..but those who have smoked are blind to the smell. Their sense of smell having been affected. When my husband gave up smoking after about 65 years of doing it there was a period in which his sense of smell returned. It was great to see him rediscover smells he had been missing for so long. Even if you don't smoke you end up with the odor of it in your hair and on your clothing after being around those who do. I have also seen first hand the affects that smoking can have on an individual health wise and it is not a good thing. It is addictive just like any other drug. It is an expensive habit that once you are hooked it is hard to break from. I have experienced the "down" side of smokers and choose not to date or be around those who choose to do it. It is just a personal choice for my own health and enjoyment.
