My mother was a chain-smoker when I was growing up. As a result, after I was no longer around the smoking, I developed serious allergic reactions when I am around it now. For example, if I am exposed to extended periods of cigarette smoke, I begin to have migraines and a sore throat. I have to wonderful small children now, and I absolutely will not expose them to the harmful effects of cigarettes.
